The Victorian Cross Country Ski Team (VICXC) is open for business for 2024! Following the establishment of a new Victorian Cross Country Committee under Snow Australia, VICXC is also undergoing some changes. Registration for the team is now live on the Snow Australia event and member portal, with event support available at rollerski events in April and the first training camp coming up in May.
Leading the charge for VICXC in 2024 is Andrew Paul
During the winter VICXC will partner with the AUSXC National Training Centre coach at Falls Creek to provide coaching for both state and national level athletes.
2024 Plans
To kick start 2024 there will be an introductory meeting in Melbourne before the rollerski races on April 27-28. Current athletes are encouraged to compete in the rollerski races and coaching/warm-up assistance will be available.
This will be followed by our first official pre-season camp in Mount Beauty and an on-snow camp at Falls Creek. During the season there will be race support and further on-snow training opportunities provided by both VIC XC team coaches and the Snow Australia National Training Centre Coach.
The VIC XC Team will build on this program moving into 2024 with the view to provide a year round, term based program to support athletes.
