The Victorian Cross Country Ski Team is the official state program affiliated with Snow Australia for Victorian junior cross country ski athletes from clubs across the State. VIC XC provides support for athletes to get together at training camps, weekend & day trips, and race events. VIC XC is an inclusive team without specific selection criteria, however a reasonable standard is expected. We are currently inviting new members to join us in 2024. The team is focused on building connections amongst athletes whilst providing a professional and high-level training environment. The program is currently available to athletes aged between 15 and under 20 years of age.
Membership Overview
Athletes wanting to participate in any VICXC Team events must register to join. Members of the Victorian XC Ski Team must also be financial members of Snow Australia. *Snow Australia National Team members do not need to pay the registration fee.
At all the VIC XC supported events the VIC XC coaching team will assist with waxing, warmup and cool down. Accommodation, limited to paid members, may be sourced if numbers are there.
Membership Fees
Athlete $ 150 * Includes a Hi-Viz training t-shirt, compulsory for roller ski training with the VIC XC Group in shared public spaces. ** There will be a cost for each additional camp (accommodation, food, transport, coaching fee) and for on-snow winter coaching sessions with the National Training Centre Coach. These costs are TBC and more information will be provided as soon as they are formulated via our WhatsApp group, email or website.
Your Role as an Athlete with VIC XC
*Attendance at camps whenever possible. *Being an active participant. *Display Generosity of Spirit when training with and racing against your fellow xc athletes. *Respect and common curtsey shown to your coaches, race officials, volunteers, staff, and attendees on camps and at events. *Uphold Snow Australia’s Integrity Policies. *Strive to improve your skills. *Make new friendships. And above all... *Enjoy yourself!

Your Role as a Parent/Guardian of a VIC XC athlete
*Encouragement and support to your athlete and the wider group encompassing the whole of VIC XC 2024 Community. *Volunteer as a helper & driver (full licence only) on VIC XC Camps - our camps cannot run without your support. *Help at race events when required. Roles may include but are not limited to timing support, course set up and pack up, bib and electronic tag collection. *Cheer squad and photographers to mark the events.
You must hold an up to date Working With Children Card (WWCC) volunteer level, to attend camps and partake in VIC XC run events depending on the role required.

Registration for the VIC XC Team is $150 which includes team HiVis training shirt, waxing and race support.
Team members must also register for a Snow Australia XC Sport Racer license for $66, which is required to race in State and National Championships.
There will be a cost for each camp (accommodation, food, transport, coaching fee) and for on-snow winter coaching sessions with the National Training Centre Coach. These costs are TBC and more information will be provided as details are finalised.
Snow Australia National Team members do not need to pay the registration fee and those who have opted in for year-round coaching will not be charged coaching fees, but they still need to register as above.
There may be opportunities for parent volunteers at the camps with accommodation/meals covered
in exchange for transport and supervision assistance.
